Policy Statement
The American Tribute Foundation is serving as a grassroots organizer of an apolitical public effort to launch a new American tradition, known as The American Tribute.
The idea of The Tribute is, through both the efforts and intentions of The Foundation, to be "owned" by the American people.
The Foundation's founders, advisors and volunteers are not paid for their services, but are committed to simply acting as stewards of an idea that is bigger than any of the individuals involved.
The Foundation's founders and volunteers have pledged to avoid efforts to commercialize The Tribute tradition that are in any manner inconsistent with the Foundation's status as a non-profit organization, or in any manner inconsistent with the Foundation's mission to celebrate the leadership and contributions of everyday American heroes.
The Foundation's founders, advisors and volunteers have also pledged to ensure that The Tribute does not become popularized as a "Republican" or "Democratic" idea, but is rather understood for what it is: an AMERICAN idea. Republicans, Democrats and Independents are all participating on the Launch Team.
The American Tribute Foundation has been supported by private donations, and is not seeking donations from the public.
The American Tribute Foundation operates under strict codes and operating parameters regarding its activities. The Foundation receives administrative and audit services, as well as its status as a non-profit, 501(c)3 public foundation, through its affiliation with the National Heritage Foundation.
